Kelsey
and Kym at dinner on a cruise to Central America.
These are
Kelsy's curtains. She loves fresh-water fish, and owns
several well-stocked aquariums. So, I wanted to create a
semi-underwater theme with her window treatment. We used an
analogous color scheme using colors which are next to each
other on the color wheel: orchid, blue, turquoise, and
green.
We added some embellishment to her bed skirt, too.
This is the
overview of her bay window.
If interested, you can see the individual parts that make up her window
treatment.
There
are 3 windows, so the same number of window treatments.
We used 5 different fabrics for this:
1. We covered the curtain pocket rod with one watery fabric,
gathered onto the rod.
2. Another watery sheer fabric drapes behind the rod and the front
pieces.
3. We used shower curtain hooks to hold the front swag, and we
covered
the hook with orchid silk. We sewed a tube, turned it, then squished
it
onto each of the hooks. (See picture, below.)
4. A sheer apple green and turquoise semi-sheer fabric as the front
swag.
The
shower curtain hook has a large turquoise "topaz" bauble at the end.
Note the hook is covered with scrunched orchid silk.
